The Orange County Asperger's Support Group (OCASG) is a nonprofit, tax exempt, charitable organization under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3). We support the Orange County Asperger’s community in the following ways:

* Monthly support meetings to share information regarding resources: on the 3rd Monday in Newport Beach and 4th Monday in North Orange County, from 7pm to 9pm. The Newport Beach meetings feature informational speakers and panel discussions on subjects of concern to our community.

* Monthly social activities based on age and common interests such as such as bowling, movies, horseback riding, hiking, writing, Nintendo, coffee discussion groups and more.

* Members-only MeetUp website with calendar of events, RSVP feature and uploaded presentations from past meetings.

* Members-only Yahoo Group Discussion Board to help individuals and families connect with each other online and share from each others’ life experiences.

* Additional programs, activities and events that promote integration within the greater community and optimal quality of life for our members.

Our Mission

OCASG provides hope and support for people with Asperger’s, High-Functioning Autism and PDD-NOS and their families through meetings, online communities, social events, skills training, education and advocacy. We are committed to improving communication, understanding and acceptance between the Asperger’s and neurologically-typical populations, and to ultimately improving the quality of life for all.

Keith Schildt, President
Keith holds a Ph.D. in political science and master’s degrees in both public administration and urban studies. He is Professor of Public Administration and Chair of the Department of Public and Health Administration at University of La Verne. Prior to working in academia, Keith worked in municipal government. He is also a strategic management consultant and policy analyst to a wide variety of government and nonprofit organizations.
